BOOK CLUB VIDEOS

The Second Meeting
4 September, 2020
For the second meeting of book club, we were asked by our advisors to make a book review video. I chose the Little Prince and filmed the video in my Puncak Alam dorm. The video itself is self-explanatory, but I feel like I need to add on. The Little Prince is considered a children's book, but it still made me cry regardless. I remember that day in my old high school lab. My heart tightened as I read the last few pages of the Little Prince. Perhaps, like the Author himself, I could feel my child self disappearing although I was (and still am) too young to feel that. However, I strongly believe whether you are a child, a teenager, an adult or an elderly, you can always lose yourself any second if the world asks you to. This book review is honestly a really great idea. I had a lot of time to ponder and think about my reasons, and I had a chance to think about the book itself again. I enjoyed the process.
The Third Meeting
25 September, 2020
The third meeting was a little exciting. Each club member was assigned to film a video of their personal book collection or library. We also had the opportunity to watch each member's videos in the Google Drive aside from ours. I was envious of some (in a good way) as their videos made me feel like home. I love books, but I do not own a lot of it. Nevertheless, I had to take a closer look at my own bookshelf. I rearranged my books, mangas, decoration and finally talked about the reasons why those books are there in the present day. This activity also took me back to the times I spent with my books, whether I was a 12-year-old girl or a 16-year-old airhead. I talked about the books in my past, then the books I collected more recently. It is a rare opportunity for me to talk about what I read. I only share my reads with a friend of mine, Sofea. It was a nice change.
The Fourth Meeting
9 October, 2020
The final meeting. I remember I was so excited about crafting a Do-It-Yourself bookmark that I accidentally crafted one a week earlier than the meeting. The advisors halted our meetings due to our examinations, I was quite sad but I had priorities. So, you can tell where the excitement stemmed from. I made an origami cat by following a YouTube tutorial. This is because I find this bookmark easy but also lovable. I am very fond of cats. I also crafted a few origamis and attached it to my fairy lights months ago. Thus, I figured that it would be nice to craft something I am used to doing. On the other hand, origamis do not require printing nor painting. Anyone is able to do it by observing the folds carefully. I also rarely do time lapse videos, therefore my excitement doubled. It may seem silly but these little things brought me joy. Unfortunately, our advisors could not meet us for one last time on Google Meet as they were busy, but I am glad that I joined the Book Club.
Thank you dear club advisors
